We're thrilled to have Kaisa Stenberg teach this dollmaking class at Art&Craft.
During this class, you get to design and make your own one-of-a-kind doll. This workshop begins with an imaginative mindfulness exercise. Next you dream up your unique doll friend into being! Perhaps you want to make a self-portrait doll, or a doll that resembles someone you love. Or one straight out of your imagination!
First, learn to draw a pattern for your doll and be guided step-by-step to create your quirky little friend. The possibilities are endless. You will get to choose the clothing from countless fabrics, create the kind of hair you're imagining, and if you'd like, a hat, too! Then to finish you sew on your own embroidery facial features.
At the end of the class, you get to take home a finished product that will be a lovely keepsake doll to treasure over the years, or a unique gift to give to someone special.
This class is open to those who consider themselves an advanced beginner on the sewing machine. Ages 8 and up are invited to attend. We request that both guardian/parent and child each purchase a ticket to register.
There are six spots available.
Kaisa is a Finland native and has been a crafter all of her life. She has been creating dolls, and homes for her dolls since she was a little girl. Together with her husband, they moved to Denver two years ago, and she opened her private spiritual direction practice. As part of her practice she runs an Etsy Shop where she sells tactile tools (including dolls!) that help us connect to our truest selves. You can learn more about Kaisa at www.kutsucompanions.com.
